We have a simple recipe for you to follow- 

Time: 15 to 20 minutes.

Makes 20 mini square shape chikki

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. In a pan, lightly roast the sesame seeds on medium heat. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  2. In a saucepan, heat ghee and jaggery over very low heat until they melt and start bubbling.
  3. Add cardamom powder and saffron threads. Avoid stirring, but swirl the pan for even cooking and caramelization.
  4. Cook until the mixture reaches the hard crack stage.
  5. Remove the jaggery mixture from heat and quickly add the roasted sesame seeds. Mix until they are well-coated.
  6. Spread the mixture on a flat tray and flatten it to the desired thickness using a well-oiled rolling pin or spatula.
  7. Allow it to cool completely.
  8. Break it into the desired size pieces and store iit n airtight containers.

  • Sesame seeds and jaggery are rich in anti-inflammatory compounds that can aid in preventing infections and diseases.
  • Being a good source of iron, these ingredients contribute to preventing iron-deficiency anaemia and maintaining optimal blood health.
