· Apply sunscreen whenever your kids will be in the sun. For best results, apply it about 10 to 15 minutes before kids go outside. Apply enough quantity. Unless you slather on a thick layer you are probably just using SPF 10 out of SPF30. Apply the sunscreen lotion directly on the skin instead of first applying it onto your hands. Apply the moisturizer first, then apply the sunscreen. Reapply sunscreen often, about every 2 hours. Reapply after a child has been sweating or swimming.
