Water Kefir Starter Culture
Fermented source of probiotic bacteria, enhances immunity, improves gut health and eases inflammation.
*Steps to make Water Kefir-* The packet makes 1L Water Kefir *Step 1 - Prepare Sugar solution* In a glass jar combine 1L filtered Water + 4 tbsp Sugar + 1 tsp Sea salt *Step 2 - Add Kefir Grains* Add the packet of Kefir grains into the sugar base. Mix well with a wooden/ plastic spatula. Cover the jar using a thick cloth and fasten with a rubber band *Step 3 - Ferment* Leave the mixture to ferment at 20-29 degrees for 8-18 hrs. Strain the Kefir grains and add them into a fresh batch of Sugar solution, to sustain potency of the grains. *Step 4 - Flavouring & Bottling* From fruit juices to herbs, add your choice of flavouring to your finished Water Kefir and leave it to ferment for over 24-36 hours in a tightly closed flip flop bottle. Avoid filling to the brim and burp the bottle daily. Leave it to ferment in a cool dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Refrigerate the bottle and serve cold.
